Bone marrow origin of decidual cell precursors in the pseudopregnant mouse uterus.

Abstract: Decidual cells are considered to be the endproduct of a hormonally induced transformation of endometrial stromal cells of the uterus. However, the source of these precursors remains unknown. This study of evaluated the possibility of their bone marrow origin by an examination of the H-2 phenotype of decidual cells in pseudopregnant bone marrow chimeras. These chimeras were produced by repopulating lethally irradiated CBA/J female (H-2k) mice with bone marrow from (CBA/J x C57BL/6J) F1 female (H-2kb) mice. Pseu… Show more

“…Using the mouse as a model, Kearns and Lala [27] reported results indicating that decidual cells as well as macrophages appearing within the decidual nodules of pseudopregnant animals are descendants of bone marrow cells. It may therefore well be that the cells used in this study pertain to the same lineage and that the enzyme is similar to that described for pulmonary alveolar macrophages in sarcoidosis 1281.…”

“…Formation of the decidua (decidualization) is a poorly understood phenomenon involving cell proliferation and migration that is coordinated with cellular growth in the uterine epithelium (for a general description, see reference 9). It apparently results from the differentiation and proliferation of stem cells in the endometrial stroma that may have originally derived from the bone marrow (13). Once the uterus is sensitized by appropriate hormones, decidualization is then triggered, in part, by implantation of the embryo.…”

“…Cara alternatif adalah daripada darah haid yang mengandungi darah dan tisu yang luruh daripada endometrium yang mengandungi satu populasi sel yang heterogenus yang berupaya untuk tumbuh semula (Cui et al 2007). Sel rahim stromal mempunyai penanda multipoten sama yang biasa dijumpai di dalam sum-sum tulang (Kearns & Lala;Schwab & Gargett 2007;Taylor 2004).…”
