BlueArch–An Implementation of 5G Testbed

Abstract: In this paper, we've proposed BlueArch, a testbed for 5G research and experimentations. It is a customized setup, that comprises of several opensource components. It provides a platform to create and customize virtual network infrastructures and benchmarks prototypes. BlueArch provides high flexibility in terms of customization, configuration, and programmability. It supports 5G features such as softwarisation, virtualization, and orchestration etc. Furthermore, it offers use cases like IoT, MEC, and SDN throu… Show more

“…(i) The first category comprises those testbeds that partially achieve some of the primary or secondary attributes of the design criteria for network slicing testbeds. In this regard, the testbeds in [38], [40], [45], [46], [50], [55], [56], [58], [60]- [62], [68]- [71] present network slicing in a particular network domain, and they do not realize a complete E2E network slicing. Reference [56] applies network slicing within multiple-VIMs (DCs); however, this implementation is limited to one network domain, and it does not present E2E network slicing, which crosses all network domains (RAN, TN, and CN).…”

“…There are recently developed testbeds for 5G research, as it is the case for the 5Greplay testbed (Salazar et al, 2021, which was designed for 5G security research and development of fuzzing platform for attack injection. BlueArch (Ghosh et al, 2019) uses several open-source components to provide a 5G customizable platform for experimentation of several scenarios, including IoT-based ones. (Amponis et al, 2022) also describes a testbed that shares some similarities with the one presented in this paper, designed as a cyber-range to test attacks against the 5G Core and RAN.…”
