Blue-Shifted Rogue Waves Generation in Normal Dispersion Fiber Laser

Abstract: In the presence of noise in normal dispersion fiber mode-locked lasers, "dissipative resonance" disappears, which leads to instability of spectral broadening and makes the asymptotic accumulation of energy impossible. We experimentally generate dissipative soliton molecules-like spectral peaks and rogue waves in the frequency domain in a self-mode-locked fiber laser. Due to noise in the initial triangular-shaped mode locked wave, these molecules are arranged in the form of lobes on the longer wavelength side, … Show more

“…In addition, changes in the comb structure were observed, presenting a different feature compared to previous studies in field of soliton combs. Therefore, in addition to the soliton combs of different spacing, we also observed soliton molecules of different structures and compound (multicomponent) rogue waves394041. The properties of the solitons are discussed in detail in ref.…”

“…80 Since then, the study of dissipative RWs in fiber lasers has been rapidly developing. [53][54][55]79,[81][82][83][84][85][86][87][88][89][90][91][92][93][94][95][96][97] RWs in fiber lasers can be categorized by pulse duration as three types, 94 namely slow RWs, fast RWs, and ultrafast RWs. These RWs are generated by different mechanisms.…”

“…Mode-locked fiber lasers which have abundant physical effects including nonlinearity, dispersion, gain and loss, are excellent platforms for nonlinear sciences investigation such as RWs. Indeed, recently, RWs were observed in mode-locked fiber lasers under different mode-locking states [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. As well known, there are several mode-locking states in fiber lasers.…”
