Blockchain Based Trust Model Using Tendermint in Vehicular Adhoc Networks

Abstract: Blockchain is the consensus-based technology to resolve the conflicts in Byzantine environments. Vehicles validate the messages received from the neighboring vehicles using Gradient Boosting Technique (GBT). Based on the validation results the message source vehicle generates the ratings that are to be uploaded to Road Side Units (RSUs) through that trust offset value can be calculated. All RSUs maintain the trust blockchain and each RSU tries to add their blocks to trust blockchain. We proposed a blockchain-b… Show more

“…The main goal of the Island splitting protocol is to provide a mechanism to limit the maximum size of the Islands. The goal is to create Islands with acceptable performances and no more than 100 validators in the cluster [17,18]. This protocol defines the maximum numbers of validators in an Island in order to avoid the network congestion from voting message exchanges.…”

“…In [19] and [20], an event may be reported by multiple vehicles in the vicinity. A vehicle in the vicinity receiving such reports computes each report's credibility which is exponentially decreased with the distance to the reporting vehicle.…”

“…A vehicle in the vicinity receiving such reports computes each report's credibility which is exponentially decreased with the distance to the reporting vehicle. Based on the set of computed credibility, a receiving vehicle computes the aggregated credibility of the event by using the Bayesian inference in [19] and the gradient boosting technique in [20]. Then the receiving vehicles share the feedback with the nearby RSU to update the TV of the reporter and save it into the BC.…”
