Sediment transport in the ejector is highly stochastic and non-linear in nature, and its accurate estimation is a complex and challenging mission. This study attempts to investigate the sediment removal estimation of sediment ejector using newly developed hybrid data-intelligence models. The proposed models are based on the hybridization of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems (ANFIS) with different metaheuristic algorithms, namely, particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA), differential evolution (DE), and ant colony optimization (ACO). The proposed models are constructed with various related input variables such as sediment concentration, flow depth, velocity, sediment size, Froude number, extraction ratio, number of tunnels and sub-tunnels, and flow depth at upstream of the sediment ejector. The estimation capacity of the developed hybrid models is assessed using several statistical evaluation indices. The modeling results obtained for the studied ejector sediment removal estimation demonstrated an optimistic finding. Among the developed hybrid models, ANFIS-PSO model exhibited the best predictability potential with maximum correlation coefficient values CC Train = 0.915 and CC Test = 0.916.

Nefret ve ayırımcılık suçu, hürriyete karşı işlenen suçlardandır. Dil, ırk, milliyet, renk, cinsiyet, engellilik, siyasi düşünce, felsefi inanç, din veya mezhep farklılığından kaynaklanan nefret saikiyle, ceza normunda yer alan seçimlik hareketlerden birinin gerçekleştirilmesi durumunda nefret ve ayırımcılık suçu işlenmektedir. 6529 sayılı Kanun değişikliğiyle birlikte nefret kavramı, ayırımcılık suçunun hem başlığına hem de metin kısmına eklenerek, hem suçun adı hem de suçun manevi unsuru değiştirilmiştir. Değişiklikle birlikte nefret kavramının hukuksal, sosyolojik ve kriminolojik sonuçları ortaya çıkmaktadır. Nefret kavramı, ayırımcılık suçunun yapısı, hukuki niteliği, nefret saikine ilişkin modeli ve suçla korunan hukuki yararı etkilemektedir. Nefret saiki suçun unsuru olarak düzenlendiğinden, nefret saikiyle hareket edildiğinin kanıtlanması gerekmektedir. Karmaşık bir duygu olan nefret saikinin kanıtlanabilmesinin zorluğuna bağlı olarak, nefret ve ayırımcılık suçunun ispatlanması oldukça zor olmaktadır.

The sedimentation of drainage canals is a common process and its intensity depends on several geographical and hydrological factors. Drainage canal sediments are frequently polluted by heavy metals or other pollutants; they need to be periodically dredged and ultimately, have to be safely disposed of. Furthermore, pollution in smaller drainages may go undetected because under the Water Framework Directive (Directive 2000/60/EC), catchment areas < 10 km2 do not require monitoring. We investigated the hypothesis that water resources of small sub-catchments exposed to agricultural pollutants accumulate sediment for a longer period (several years) and severely enhance environmental risks. We analyzed the data on sediment mobility in drainage canals for a small lowland catchment in Croatia during 2013–2017. We conducted sediment transport modelling for actual precipitation episodes of a 10-year return period and design precipitation of a 50-year return period. The results indicated that sediments and associated copper pollution persist at the canal bottom for several years, which increases the risk of polluting groundwater and the environment in general. Only copper present at the maximum downstream section of the canal has the possibility of moving to the recipient stream and would only be detected in catchment areas bigger than 10 km2. We proved that smaller water bodies evaluated according to monitoring standards prescribed for the closest larger water can enhance environmental risks.
