“…Pesticides are substances used for eliminating or deterring pests that can cause harm to humans, animals, or the environment ( Boudh and Singh, 2019 , Butu et al, 2020 , Warra and Prasad, 2020 ). Pesticides used on a large scale on crops and forests may contribute to toxic compounds being found in the environment.…”

“…Interest in incorporating biopesticides into organic disease management programs has increased due, in part, to the products' biodegradability, low residual presence in the environment, low resistance risks, ability to specifically target pests and pathogens, little to no off-target effects and durability of disease management programs while protecting yield (Seiber et al ., 2014; Tripathi et al ., 2009; Damalas and Koutroubas, 2018; Marrone, 2019; Kalpana and Anil, 2021). Furthermore, biopesticides can be used to reduce synthetic pesticide use and act as a pest resistance management strategy (Butu et al ., 2020; Essiedu et al ., 2020). We found that most organic growers responding to the survey (five out of six) have used non-copper biopesticides compared to copper products (Table 4).…”

“…Given the increase in resistance to pesticides, at the larval level (44) or in the adult stage (45), of the different disease vector species, several formulations of biopesticides have been developed in recent years (46). The type of formulations and support in these biopesticides is of utmost…”
