“…Cyrtopodium hatschbachii and C. paludicolum are self‐compatible, non‐apomictic species, and dependent on biotic pollination, as recorded for C. polyphyllum (Liu & Pemberton, ; Pansarin et al, ) and C. punctatum (Dutra et al, ; Pemberton & Liu, ). However, fruit set was quite low, which seems to be typical of the genus, as observed for terrestrial C. polyphyllum (Liu & Pemberton, ; Pansarin et al, ) and C. punctatum (Dutra et al, ; Pemberton & Liu, ), and the epiphytic C. saintlegerianum (Hunhoff, Silva, Lage, Krause, & Palú, ). In this context, additional rain‐assisted selfing may be important to improve reproductive success of the studied Cyrtopodium species.…”
