The COVID-19 pandemic is probably the greatest natural disaster of our generation and the 21st century with a great impact on mental health. The present study aims to quantify, with the help of the Beck questionnaire, the degree of depression in a group of 109 patients with moderate forms of COVID-19, hospitalized in the Second Clinic of the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases St. Cuv. Parascheva Galati during the period: 1.01-30.03.2021. Of these, 35 patients (32.11%) had varying degrees of depression, and had an age and body mass index statistically significantly higher than those without depression. These patients also had statistically significantly higher Charlson scores of cumulative comorbidities and required longer hospitalization than patients without depression. The severity of COVID-19 and the percentage of favorable prognosis did not show statistically significant differences between the two groups. Our study reveals a lower incidence of depression among patients with COVID-19 compared to existing studies in the literature. This can be explained by the fact that our study is conducted at the end of the first year of the pandemic when antiviral therapy schemes stabilized and population vaccination began. The high genetic variability of the virus, which can determine at any time the appearance of new strains with greater aggression, contagion or with mutations on the spike protein, maintains the need to keep non-specific preventive measures and the mental tension related to this pathology. Thus, intrapandemic psychiatric disorders remain a major public health problem and require strong government prevention and control measures.

No início do século, havia um consenso na comunidade internacional sobre os princípios básicos da Bioética, evidenciado pela aprovação unânime, de 191 Estados-membros, da Declaração Universal sobre Bioética e Direitos Humanos na Unesco em 2005. Porém, cerca de três lustros depois, para além do populismo autoritário e da infodemia identificada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde, o mundo se deparou com a pandemia de covid-19, deixando evidente a necessidade de uma atualização desse consenso. O presente texto busca mostrar as consequências desses fatos para a Bioética e os possíveis rumos para um novo pacto bioético. Apoiado em pesquisa bibliográfica, o texto contextualiza historicamente a Bioética, com especial atenção ao já mencionado consenso internacional consolidado em 2005. Em um segundo momento, o texto aborda agressões e rupturas à ordem bioética, que diversos autores na literatura apontam como razões para a busca pela renovação do pacto bioético internacional. Segundo estes e outros autores, o novo pacto da Bioética deveria ser baseado em novos termos, com novos atores, mas mantendo-se o que a Bioética já construiu. Entre os novos atores, estão os governos, as mídias sociais, os jornalistas e, especialmente, o conjunto da sociedade. O texto chega à conclusão de que, ainda que ninguém seja capaz de oferecer certezas sobre o destino de nossa sociedade, nem quais são nossas melhores respostas bioéticas aos problemas que se colocam, é certo que a Bioética precisa ser rediscutida em função dos mais recentes desafios.

The subject of the proposed paper is the disclosure of prerequisites and determinants of the implementation of the soteriological concept of studying the interdisciplinary course of bioethics, the structural model and synectic algorithm of its comprehension and epistemological map of formation of soteriological competence of the future specialist during the study of bioethics. The methodological basis for the implementation of the proposed project is the theory of research-oriented professional education (Inquiry Based Science Education) and, thereafter, technology of advanced learning (Technology Enhanced Learning), which provide wide opportunities to study the course of bioethics in the form of observation of remote virtual experiments on the portal Go-Lab; GRAASP environment for the implementation of author's developments and pedagogically structured programs in the process of performative interaction between teacher and students. The scientific novelty of the material is to substantiate the content of anthropological competencies of future specialists in biomedical specialties and the strategies of obtaining them on the basis of the principles of hermeneutic didactics. Conclusions. Today, obviously, the task of bioethics is not only to protect nature and human life, but also to participate in the realization of the high mission of Salvation. This defines the research field of bioethics as a space of secret dialogue, in which it is desirable to find a place not only for the voice of clinicians, pharmacists, engineers, philosophers, public figures, but also the pastoral voice of the Church.
