Seedlings production is one of the most important stages of the production system and directly influences the performance of the plant in the field. In this sense, the present work aims to evaluate the use of biomass doses of Spirulina platensis and Scenedesmus sp. via root system on the production of yellow passion fruit seedlings. A greenhouse experiment was carried out using a randomized block design in a 2 × 5 factorial scheme (Spirulina platensis and Scenedesmus sp., at the doses 0.0%, 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.8 % and 1% m/v), with four blocks and two experimental units per plot. At 60 days, leaf number, total seedling length, shoot diameter, root system length, shoot length, shoot and root fresh mass, dry mass, root dry mass and total chlorophyll were measured. Spirulina platensis showed superior performance compared to Scenedesmus sp., for the variables stem diameter, shoot length, fresh shoot mass, fresh root mass, dry shoot mass and root dry mass. The doses influenced the number of leaves, root fresh mass, root dry mass, shoot length and fresh shoot mass significantly. The best dose of microalga applied was 0.8% in passion fruit seedlings at 60 days.

Papaya (Carica papaya L.) is one of the leading fruit trees in Brazil, mainly in the Northeast region. However, some regions suffer from water scarcity, making wastewater reuse a viable alternative for crop production. Also, biostimulants may be used to maximize papaya growth and development. Thus, this work aimed to evaluate the use of Acadian® biostimulant in the growth of Formosa papaya seedlings irrigated with different concentrations of fish-farming wastewater. The experiment was block randomized in a 2 x 5 factorial scheme, use and non-use of biostimulant and five concentrations of wastewater (0, 10, 20, 30, and 40%) diluted in potable water, with four replicates. Qualitative data were compared by t-test at 5% probability, and quantitative data were submitted to regression analysis. Results showed that high concentrations of wastewater negatively affect the production of Formosa papaya seedlings. Acadian® negatively influences plant height, number of leaves, and the ratio between shoot and root. However, the seaweed biostimulant positively influenced the chlorophyll content index.

RESUMO O experimento teve como objetivo avaliar o crescimento de mudas de canafístula (Peltophorum dubium) produzidas com o uso de adubação biológica e bioestimulante em substrato orgânico e comercial. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento experimental em blocos ao acaso, no arranjo fatorial 2 x 4, sendo dois substratos (orgânico e comercial), e quatro adubações com os fertilizantes testados (Testemunha, bioestimulante, fertilizante biológico, fertilizante biológico e bioestimulante), com quatro repetições. Os recipientes utilizados foram tubetes com 120 cm³ onde cada unidade experimental era composta por 30 mudas. Aos 100 dias após a semeadura as mudas foram avaliadas quanto aos seguintes parâmetros: altura da parte aérea (H); diâmetro do coleto (DC); comprimento de raiz (CR); massa seca da parte aérea (MSPA); massa seca de raiz (MSR) e massa seca total (MST); relação da altura da parte aérea/diâmetro de coleto (H/DC); relação entre altura da parte aérea/massa seca da parte aérea (H/MSPA); relação entre massa seca da parte aérea/massa seca de raiz (MSPA/MSR) e índice de qualidade de Dickson (IQD). O uso de fertilizante biológico e bioestimulante não apresentou resultado significativo na qualidade de mudas de Peltophorum dubium, e não apresentaram interação com os substratos testados. Os parâmetros avaliados H, DC, MSPA, MST e as relações H/DC e H/MSPA foram eficientes em indicar mudas de maior qualidade produzidas pelo substrato orgânico.
