“…Most industrial biodiesel production depends on the transesterification of oil with alcohols in the presence of a catalyst. Some oleaginous seeds are used as raw materials, including soybean, sunflower, chicha, coconut, canola, and castor grains. Chicha (Sterculia striata of the family Sterculiaceae) is an alternative oil-rich plant for biodiesel production. The fruits of this species have a woody bark and their black seeds have a thin brittle shell. Within these seeds, there is an almond composed of approximately 40% oil.…”
