Biochemical, Hematological and Pathological Effects of Bispyribac Sodium in Female Albino Rats

Abstract: Bispyribac-sodium (nominee (used extensively as a herbicide in rice fields in Egypt. We investigate the cytotoxic effect of bispyribac-sodium in albino rats that intubated orally with 0, 16.47, 32.94, 65.88 mg/kg of bispyribac-sodium (equivalent to 1/160 1/80 and 1/40 of the LD50 of bispyribac-sodium) for three months twice per week. It was found that bispyribac-herbicide caused non-significant decrease in the body weight gain ratio of albino rats. Moreover, bispyribac-sodium elevated significance levels of AL… Show more

“…All these measurements were done in the morning before feeding. LBW was performed using an electronic beast scale, then the body weight gain percentage (BWG %) [ 21 ] and the average daily gain (ADG g/day) were calculated. BCS was judged by palpation of the sacrolumbar area and noted from 1 to 5 as previously described by Maurya et al .…”

“…Reduced albumin and globulin levels in the blood are an indicator of impaired protein synthesis or liver damage caused by toxins [42,43]. Elalfy et al [44] and Abdel-Daim et al [45] found similar outcomes, but Sharafeldin et al [46] and Fathy et al [47] found different ones. High renal excretion and impaired protein synthesis owing to hepatic dysfunction both contribute to falling albumin levels [48,49].…”

“…Chemical weed control provides more efficient longterm weed control and higher vegetable yields, also herbicides hold promise for weed control that is timely, affordable, and reliable in areas where labour is scarce and costly (Adigun et al, 2014). Herbicides are one of the main methods for controlling noxious weeds in agricultural and non-agricultural lands all over the world and it presented more than 60% of total pesticides used in agricultural sectors (Elalfy et al, 2017). Clethodim is a systemic herbicide belong to that is quickly consumed and transported from treated vegetation to the plant's root system and growing portions, It has a role as a herbicide and an EC 6.4.1.2 (acetyl-CoA carboxylase) inhibitor (Turner, J.…”
