Biochemical Changes in Nostoc linckia Associated with Selenium Nanoparticles Biosynthesis

Abstract: Abstract:The cyanobacterium Nostoc linckia was used to study the biotechnology of selenium nanoparticles synthesis for the first time. The experimental conditions of the nanoparticle production by the studied cyanobacteria in aqueous cobalt selenite solutions were examined. Neutron activation analysis allowed characterization of the dynamics of accumulation of the total selenium quantity by Nostoc linсkia. Scanning Electron Microscope images demonstrated extracellular formation of amorphous nanoparticles. Rele… Show more

“…Microorganisms exhibit important roles in several biological applications (Ferdes et al, 2020;Mandal et al, 2006;Mehmetoğlu et al, 2020). Green chemistry demonstrates biological pathways and resources that can be used in the bioproduction of NPs and is highly demanded in the bioproduction of NPs via a stable eco-friendly process without using toxic chemicals and extensive manufacturing processes (Li et al, 2007;Mehmetoğlu et al, 2020;Ramya et al, 2020;Zinicovscaia et al, 2016). Boroumand et al (2019) indicated that SeNPs have several important functional uses, such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, and it protects against the adverse side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs.…”
