Equimolar reactions of NaSn 2 (OPr') 9 or Na 2 Sn 3 (OPr') 14 with LnCl 3 .3PrOH (Ln = Y, La, Pr, Sm, Gd, Ho, Er) in benzene afforded derivatives of the types Ln{Sn 2 (OPr')9}Cl 2 and Ln{Sn 3 (OPr') l4 }Cl, respectively.Replacement of a chloride in Y{Sn 2 (OPr') 9 }Cl 2 with one equivalent of KAl(OPr') 4 yielded heterotrimetallic derivative Y{Sn 2 (OPr') 9 }{Al(OPr')4}Cl, which on further reaction in 1 : 1 molar ratio with KGa(OPr') 4 gave a novel heterotetrametallic isopropoxide complex Y{Sn 2 (OPr') 9 }{Al(OPr') 4 }{Ga(OPr') 4 }. All these new derivatives have been characterized by elemental analyses, spectroscopic [IR, Electronic, NMR ('Η, l3 C, 27 Al and n9 Sn)] studies, and molecular weight determinations. The monomeric nature of Ln{Sn 2 (OPr') 9 }Cl 2 (Ln = Y, Sm, Ho, Er) derivatives have been confirmed by FAB mass spectral studies.Brought to you by | University of Arizona Authenticated Download Date | 6/8/15 1:48 PM
