In my contribution I try to bring to light current researches and results of the multilingualism
topic. Thus, I mentioned various studies that confirm that bilingualism or multilingualism
significantly improves the cognitive process and the bilingual human brain works differently
from the monolingual human brain and what advantages and effects that bilingualism or
multilingualism brings. The purpose of this study is to review previous studies that examined
the positive or negative impact of bilingualism on the intelligence and then academic
achievement of bilingual students compared to the intelligence and academic achievement of
monolingual students
