Show more

“…TMS was used as an internal standard for 1 H and 13 C{ 1 H}. 51 V chemical shifts were referenced to the external standard VOCl 3 with upfield shift being considered as negative. The FAB mass spectrum was recorded on a Jeol SX 102/ DA-6000 Mass Spectrometer using m-Nitrobenzyl alcohol (NBA) as the matrix.…”

“…The solvents and reagents were dried and purified prior to use by conventional methods. The oximes were prepared by literature methods [37,50,51]. Vanadium was estimated as V 2 O 5 and chloride was estimated by Volhard's method [52].…”

“…4-Hydroxybenzaldehyde was alkylated with 1-bromohexadecane (30) and the aldehyde converted to an oxime (31). The oxime was reduced to an amine (32), followed by N-alkylation of the benzylamine with 1-bromoacetic acid (33).…”

“…For that purpose several methods have appeared in the literature involving the use of boron hydrides, 10 lithium aluminum hydride, 11 or the asymmetric hydrosilylation 12a and hydrogenation 12b of nitrones catalyzed by ruthenium and iridium complexes. However, to the best of our knowledge, only sodium in ethanol 13 and sodium hydrogen telluride 8b at pH 6 have allowed the direct transformation of nitrones into amines.…”
