Objective. Percutaneous electrolysis is a new treatment modality whose benefits have been described in recent years. The aim of this study was to analyze the articles published on percutaneous electrolysis and to compare bibliometric and altimetric analyses. Methods. Using the keywords "percutaneous electrolysis", all articles published in Web of Science were identified. For bibliometric analysis, article title, number and names of authors, h-index of authors, article citation count, citation index, journal names, impact factors, h-and q-indices, and types of articles were determined. For altimetric analysis, the "Altmetric Attention Score" (AAS) was recorded with a software automatically calculating the score. Correlation analyses between bibliometrics and altimetrics were performed. Results. The total number of citations in the list was between 0 and 48. The country that produced the most articles was Spain and the most cited author was Fernandez-de-las-Penas. The journals that published the highest number of articles had each published four articles. The majority of the articles consisted of clinical trials. According to Pearson correlation coefficients, there was a moderate and significant correlation between the number of citations and the AASs (p < 0.005, r = 0.561). Conclusions. This study provides a general overview of the level of interest shown in articles related to percutaneous electrolysis within the scientific community and on social media platforms. The findings can assist researchers in understanding the current state of research on percutaneous electrolysis and in identifying new directions for future research as promptly as possible. However, more research and collaboration are needed on a global scale.

Aim: In this bibliometric analysis, the research trends of the researchers, institutions, countries, and journals that contributed to the study of digital dentistry were to be analyzed. Materials and Methods: The Web of Science (WoS) database, which covers papers on digital dentistry between 2012 and 2022, served as the foundation for the literature search. Titles, abstracts, keywords, authors, connections, nations, and references are among the metadata that have been saved. Through the use of the Vosviewer software, the collected data were examined using bibliometric indicators for all interactions and collaborations. Results: 254 studies that were published between 2012 and 2022 were identified using the bibliometric analysis through searches in the Web of Science database. Total citations for publications on digital dentistry were 2112, averaging 8.31 per article. The 25 H index was identified. These publications had an article document type at a rate of 82.66%. The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry published the most articles on digital dentistry, while it also attracted the most citations. Conclusions: The study on digital dentistry was expanding between 2012 and 2022. Extensive partnerships and citations between authors, institutions, and countries or regions have been observed as a result of the global expansion in digital dentistry research. In the upcoming years, it is anticipated that research on digital dentistry will continue to be popular. According to recent publications, the accuracy and precision of intraoral scanners, digital impressions, and the variations between different intraoral scanners have all become popular research topics.

IntroductionExtensive research efforts have been dedicated to elucidating the intricate pathways by which gastrointestinal microbiota and their metabolites exert influence on the processes of bone formation. Nonetheless, a notable gap exists in the literature concerning a bibliometric analysis of research trends at the nexus of gastrointestinal microbiota and bone metabolism.MethodsTo address this scholarly void, the present study employs a suite of bibliometric tools including online platforms, CiteSpace and VOSviewer to scrutinize the pertinent literature in the realm of gastrointestinal microbiota and bone metabolism.Results and discussionExamination of the temporal distribution of publications spanning from 2000 to 2023 reveals a discernible upward trajectory in research output, characterized by an average annual growth rate of 19.2%. Notably, China and the United States emerge as primary contributors. Predominant among contributing institutions are Emory University, Harvard University, and the University of California. Pacifici R from Emory University contributed the most research with 15 publications. In the realm of academic journals, Nutrients emerges as the foremost publisher, followed closely by Frontiers in Microbiology and PLOS One. And PLOS One attains the highest average citations of 32.48. Analysis of highly cited papers underscores a burgeoning interest in the therapeutic potential of probiotics or probiotic blends in modulating bone metabolism by augmenting host immune responses. Notably, significant research attention has coalesced around the therapeutic interventions of probiotics, particularly Lactobacillus reuteri, in osteoporosis, as well as the role of gastrointestinal microbiota in the etiology and progression of osteoarthritis. Keyword analysis reveals prevalent terms including gut microbiota, osteoporosis, bone density, probiotics, inflammation, SCFAs, metabolism, osteoarthritis, calcium absorption, obesity, double-blind, prebiotics, mechanisms, postmenopausal women, supplementation, risk factors, oxidative stress, and immune system. Future research endeavors warrant a nuanced exploration of topics such as inflammation, obesity, SCFAs, postmenopausal osteoporosis, skeletal muscle, oxidative stress, double-blind trials, and pathogenic mechanisms. In summary, this study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global research on the interplay between gastrointestinal microbiota and bone metabolism, offering valuable insights for scholars, particularly nascent researchers, embarking on analogous investigations within this domain.
