Abstract:At this time we are not inclined to stress "the Bargen bacillus" as the primary etiologic factor of ulcerative colitis. We are indebted considerably to Bargen for being the first to bring forth the idea that the so-called nonspecific chronic ulcerative colitis should be con¬ sidered an infectious process. CONCLUSIONS 1. Chronic ulcerative colitis should be considered an infectious process.
Two cases of hemangioma of the esophagus are reported. The literature, etiology, clinical and radiologic findings, and therapeutic approach are reviewed.
