Abstract

Contributions to the Chemistry of Boron, 116')Investigation of the Substituent Exchange using 'OB Labeling: Reactions between 1.2,4.3,5-Trithiadiborolanes 1°B labeling show> that the exchange of substituents between 1,2,4,3,5-trithiadiboroIanes (BX),S, and (BY),S, proceeds by two routes: a change of X and Y from one ring system to the other occurs by an exo-process and mixed trithiadiborolanes B,XYS, result without an exchange of ring boron atoms. In the endo-process, however, the boron atoms exchange jointly with X and Y. -The rapid exo-reaction is accompanied by a slower endo-reaction. This, finally, leads to a statistical distribution of the boron isotopes. However, if one component is 3,5-dimethyl-l,2,4,3,5-trithiadiborolane, i. e. a substituent without a lone pair of electrons, only the endo-mechanism is observed.Der Substituentenaustausch zwischen 1,2,4,3,5-Trithiadiborolanen Y,B,S, und Borverbindungen BX, folgt zwei Reaktionswegen, einem exocyclischen Weg und einem endocyclischen2).
