“…Also the intersubject variability (ISV) was estimated only for the clearance. The initial/prior estimates for CL, V and first‐order k a of the controlled release dosage form ( k a CR ) were 0·055 L/h per kg, 1·3 L/kg and 0·2/h, respectively, based on previous results on a similar POP (5). The analysis of the paediatric group (0–12 years old) was conducted using parameter estimates from a children’s POP CBZ study of CL = 2·37 L/h, V = 1·5 l/kg [for mean body weight (BW) = 27·13, V = 40·7 L] and k a = 0·65/h (6).…”

“…In a previous study on 60 adult Egyptian patients with epilepsy who were controlled clinically on CBZ, a PK study was carried out to test which of six different sets of CBZ PK parameters derived from literature would achieve the best predictive performance of CBZ concentration. PK analysis was performed using the Bayesian Program of Abbott (PKS system) (5). The best PK set with the least prediction error in for CBZ concentration in that previous Egyptian study was used in this study as a priori information to create a POP PK model of CBZ in a new group of Egyptian pediatric and adult patients with epilepsy using a NONMEM based POP PK approach.…”
