We present a comparative study of the pion induced production of K 0 Λ and D − Λ + c off the nucleon. A hybrid framework is utilized by combining an effective Lagrangian method with a Regge approach. We consider the t-channel process in a plannar diagram by vector-meson Reggeon exchanges and the u-channel one in a non-planar diagram by baryon Reggeon exchanges. The present model reproduces the K 0 Λ production data well with a few parameters. Having fixed them, we predict the D − Λ + c production, which turns out to be about 10 4 − 10 6 times smaller than the strangeness one, depending on the kinematical regions. *

In view of the numerous experimental results recently released, we provide in this letter an update on the performance of our simple Regge model for strangeness electroproduction on the nucleon. Without refitting any parameters, a decent description of all measured observables and channels is achieved. We also give predictions for spin transfer observables, recently measured at Jefferson Lab which have high sensitivity to discriminate between different theoretical approaches.

Exclusive production ofωmeson in proton-proton collisions at high energies

First we calculate cross section for the γp → ωp reaction from the threshold to very large energies. At low energies the pion exchange is the dominant mechanism. At large energies the experimental cross section can be well described within the k t -factorization approach by adjusting light-quark constituent mass. Next we calculate differential distributions for the pp → ppω reaction at RHIC, Tevatron and LHC energies for the first time in the literature. We consider photon-pomeron (pomeron-photon), photon-pion (pion-photon) as well as diffractive hadronic bremsstrahlung mechanisms. The latter are included in the meson/reggeon exchange picture with parameters fixed from the known phenomenology. Interesting rapidity distributions are predicted. The hadronic bremsstrahlung contributions dominate at large (forward, backward) rapidities. At small energies the photon-pomeron contribution is negligible compared to the bremsstrahlung contributions. It could be, however, easily identified at large energies at midrapidities. Absorptions effects are included and discussed. Our predictions are ready for verification at RHIC and LHC.
