This article describes death ideas which occur in Sylvia Plath"s selected poems entitled "Full Fathom Five", "I am Vertical", "Ariel" and "Edge" which focused on their relation to poet"s depression evidence before committing suicide. It can be used to investigate poet"s suicide case in perspective of forensic linguistics. This is a qualitative research that is conducted by using L.G. Alexander"s poetic devices and theory of suicide by Durkheim to analyse Plath"s suicidal motives. The result of the analysis shows that Plath"s selected poems are really standing out as the evidence of her depression during alive. In forensic linguistics case, the series of depression evidence in the poems can be the proof of suicidal unseen motives which are known through her language used in the poems. Plath"s suicidal motives are basically oriented to the stage of self-destruction due to the changing ideas of death from the selected poems from death as unacceptable thing, an unavoidable choice, gate for a rebirth to final solution of all life's problems. It is caused by personal feeling that completely separate from community.

Problem of this research are Maya's discomfort and habit in choosing her talking opponent. From Maya's problem of being uncomfortable and pickyspeaker, then it is known that she has a selective mutism disorder.. The Reason for choosing this research is because selective mutism is still considered foreign in Indonesia. Selective mutism is often seen by most people as merely a form of silence or excessive habit of shyness. The purpose of this study is to look at the types and causes of selective mutism suffered by Maya. The theories used to see the type of mutismare the theory of Heyden (1980), Utnick (2001) and Porter (2008). For the causes using the theory of Laela (2006), Kurniastuti (2011) andYanuarini (2014). The research method used is the method suggested by Sudaryanto (1993). From this study 5 forms of mutism were found, namely (1) reactive mutism, (2) passive-aggressive mutism, (3) mild, (4) moderate severe and (5) migrant. The causes of selective mutism speech disorders in Maya are (1) external factors, (2) heredity, (3) from migrant families, and (4) the existence of secrets in the family. AbstrakMasalah dalam penelitian ini adalah ketidaknyamanan Maya dan kebiasaan Maya dalam memilihmilih lawan bicaranya. Dari masalah Maya tidak nyaman dan memilih-milih untuk berbicara itu, diketahui bahwa Maya mengalami gangguan mutisme selektif. Alasan dipilihnya penelitian ini adalah karena istitah mutisme selektif masih dianggap asing di Indonesia. Mutisme selektif sering dianggap kebanyakan orang sebagai bentuk mendiamkan diri semata atau kebiasaan malu yang berlebihan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat tipe dan penyebab mutisme seletif yang diderita oleh Maya. Teori yang digunakan untuk melihat tipe mutisme adalah teori Heyden (1980), Utnick (2001 dan Porter (2008). Untuk penyebab mutisme selektif digunakan teori Laela (2006), Kurniastuti (2011), dan Yanuarini (2014. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode yang disarankan oleh Sudaryanto (1993). Dari penelitian ini ditemukan 5 bentuk tipe mutisme, yakni: (1) reactive mutism;(2) passive-aggressive mutism; (3) mild; (4) moderate severe; dan (5) migrant. Penyebab gangguan berbicara mutisme selektif pada Maya adalah: (1) faktor eksternal; (2) faktor keturunan; (3) berasal dari keluarga migran; dan (4) adanya rahasia dalam keluarga.
