“…In addition, prenylated isoflavone and chromenone derivatives obtained from Flemingia philippinensis exhibit significant inhibition against bacterial sialidase. Park et al reported phenolic metabolite Evernic acid (Figure c), isolated from the methanol extract of Usnea longissimi, displayed dose-dependent inhibition against bacterial sialidase . Interestingly, artocarpin and katsumadain A show inhibitory activity against both influenza and S.…”

“…Park et al reported phenolic metabolite Evernic acid ( Figure 8 c), isolated from the methanol extract of Usnea longissimi , displayed dose-dependent inhibition against bacterial sialidase. 239 Interestingly, artocarpin and katsumadain A show inhibitory activity against both influenza and S. pneumoniae sialidases. 240 Other curcumin and flavanoid derivatives were explored as bacterial sialidase inhibitors.…”

“…Usnea is a kind of lichen traditional Chinese medicine with highmedicinal value, distributed in polar and tropical regions, and widely distributed in Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Heilongjiang, and other places in China. There are more than 10 common species, such as U. diffracta Vain, U. cavernosa Tuck, and U. longissima Ach, among which U. longissima Ach is a large species studied widely (Salgado et al, 2018;Ullah et al, 2019). The phytochemistry of the Usnea genus show that it contains more than 60 compounds, which mainly belong to depsides, depsidones, depsones, lactones, quinones, phenolics, polysaccharides, fatty acids, and dibenzofurans (Salgado et al, 2018).…”
