Babai Ayaklanmasında Hacı Bektaş Veli'nin Rolü

Abstract

Some of the Turkmen communities that came from Khorasan and settled in Anatolia and its surroundings with the second great Turkmen immigration are known as Babais. The Babais community, which caused a great Turkmen operation in 1240, played a decisive role in the future of Anatolia. This article examines the place of Hacı Bektaş Veli in this great Turkmen movement, of which effects are still felt today. In the paper, Hacı Bektaş Veli’s membership to the Babais group and the role he played in the Babais operation were examined. The study consists of two main parts. In the first part, Hacı Bektaş Veli’s affiliation with the Babais group was discussed, and in the second part, the role of Hacı Bektaş Veli in the Babais operation was discussed. The main sources of the paper are history books that have mentioned Babais and Hacı Bektaş Veli. Endowments, travel books, custody certificates and current studies on the subject are among the sources of this research. The results of the article revealed that Hacı Bektaş Veli, who was seen as a leader of the Babai group, intentionally stood in the background during the, but took a leading role in organizing the Turkmen power after the operation was suppressed.
