“…For the actualisation of nursing support system, we need to introduce online nursing activity recognition system and online nursing instruction systems like those of Kuwahara et al (2003) and Ohmura et al (2006), integrating electric Karte systems that are frequently utilised in real hospitals. How to deal with errors of the above recognition systems in scheduling is a very important problem to discuss as a future topic.…”

“…Figure 4 shows an overview of instructed inpatient nursing, where schedules were generated by the proposed dynamic scheduling method (dynamic scheduling). In this paper, we focus on the efficiency of the proposed scheduling system and do not deal with behaviour recognition (Kuwahara et al, 2003;Ohmura et al, 2006) or the behaviour instruction of the nurses. In the instructed experiments, we recognised the completion of nursing tasks based on an utterance from the nurse such as 'I finished the task' (manual recognition) and we instructed her to perform the next nursing task assigned in the schedule (manual instruction).…”

“…Among them, Bluetooth has been the most reasonable one due to its cheaper installation cost, less hardware, and high compatibility. That's why; substantial research work has been done on developing Bluetooth integrated health care systems [85][86][87]. Apart from the mentioned protocols in Table 1, there are some other networks with which data transmission for different biomedical flexible systems takes place.…”

“…▶ Figure 4 shows the prototype vital sign sensors. The left photo shows a clinical thermometer of OMRON corp. connected with a B-pack Bluetooth wearable sensor device developed by ATR [43]. The prototype thermometer transmits the obtained body temperature via a serial port profile (SPP) through B-pack.…”
