The provision of information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure is not eminent in many societies due to a lack of digital access and poverty. Therefore, there should be ICT provision in underserved communities to bridge digital literacy and contribute to human and indigenous knowledge development. This paper aims to investigate how ICT access can impact youth employability in underserved townships. The quantitative method was used for the data collection process, using a structured questionnaire to draft both close-ended and open-ended questions. These were drafted into Google forms and distributed on social media platforms. While the sustainable livelihood theory was used to guide the study. Results derived from this study depict the inherent environmental factors that hinder youth access to ICTs. This study recommends policymakers can implement measures to provide sufficient ICT development initiatives to support youths living in underserved communities.

This study analyses how career orientations can help rural high school learners to become more self-directed and flexible in developing their careers in today's dynamic world of work. Career counsellors are needed in schools to guide the way learners subjectively make sense of their self-perceived talents and abilities. The study used a qualitative approach to obtain information about how career orientation can change the lives of rural high school learners. The purposive sampling technique was used to choose rich information from rural high school learners and teachers, councillors, and the surrounding employers/educational institutions in Waterberg District. Data analysis was done through inductive thematic data analysis where themes and categories emanated. The outcome of the study considered the fundamental aspects to develop career paths, career orientation programs, changing the mind set and the impact of career orientation in rural high schools. The product of the study will be shared with all four schools, nearby employers, and the Department of Education, Waterberg District in Limpopo province. The outcomes of the study might help in dealing with persistent educational obstacles like broader educational equity and public funding for developmental career orientation programs that face many youth and adults in rural communities. It is recommended that policy developers establish career orientation models that would benefit the livelihood of rural high schools.

There are number of challenges which are faced in implementing crowdfunding in Sri Lanka. Crowdfunding platforms in Sri Lanka are being used to gather funds, mainly for charities and to find seed money for startups. This study focuses on finding success factors affecting the implementation of the crowdfunding projects which are hosted to gather capital for startups. The study contains a proposed conceptual framework developed by reading recent literature with the facts contributing to the success of startups through crowdfunding and analyzing information gathered from experts in Sri Lanka. Variables namely web presence, investors, crowdfunding team, goal and rewards were analyzed together with the success of funding startups via crowdfunding Finally, all the variables except web presence indicated significant towards the success of funding startups via crowdfunding.
