AbstractThe temporomandibular and cervical joints have a close relationship. A functional abnormality or bad positioning of the neck or the ATM may cause a malfunction of one of them. The neural mobilization is used in order to restore elasticity, movement, driving, axoplasmic flow of the nervous system, promoting the recovery of mechanical and physiological functionality of this system. The scarcity of studies related to the topic became relevant to designing this study, aimed at analyzing effect of neural mobilization in functionality temporo-mandibular and cervical orthodontic therapy. This is an interventional study, descriptive and analytical, with quantitative approach, conducted from November to December 2012 at the School of Physical therapy Clinic -INTA. Participants were 50 people 19 to 43 years old, making use of braces, most were female (84%). The results before and after the application of neural mobilization technique of the radial nerve showed significant gain in range of motion of the ATM and cervical, as well as a significant reduction of pain symptoms in the assessed muscles.
