The range of uptake of tritiated thymidine in vivo 4i varied from 04% to 1.9% in the large bronchi and from 0-2% to 1 -0% in the small bronchi and bronchioles of rats and mice, as determined independently by several investigators (Blenkinsopp, 1967;Edwards and Klein, 1961;Meyer zum Gottesberge and Koburg, 1963;Koburg, 1962;Schultze and Oehlert, 1960;Shorter, Divertie, and Titus, 1964;Shorter, Titus andDivertie, 1964, 1966).
