Automatic Structured Abstract for Research Papers Supported by Tabular Format using NLP

Abstract: The abstract is an extensive summary of a scientific paper that supports making a quick decision about reading it. The employment of a structured abstract is useful to represent the major components of the paper. This, in turn, enhances extracting information about the study. Regardless of the importance of the structured abstract, many computer science research papers do not apply it. This may lead to weak abstracts. This paper aims at implementing the natural language processing (NLP) techniques and machine … Show more

“…We use text mining -a method closely related to NLP -to analyze large amounts of job advertisements in a semi-automated way. NLP methods are already used in the scientific context to extract keywords from texts [36], to generate summaries [37] or to find research trends [21]. Also regarding the evaluation and analysis of skills, which are in demand on the job market, first approaches for the evaluation of job advertisements with NLP can be found in the literature [23].…”

“…For undergraduate students, basic skills in scientific writing are essential. The framework of scientific articles consists of structured abstracts (Almugbel et al, 2019;Bahadoran et al, 2020;Silva et al, 2020;Tullu, 2019), an introduction, methodology, research results, and conclusions (Lazarides et al, 2020). Constraints faced by students when writing scientific articles are writing errors (Franco et al, 2021;Hasanuddin et al, 2019) which include common words (Jamilah, 2017), determining research topics (Adelia et al, 2018), difficulties in finding literature and empirical data (Aisiah & Firza, 2018), errors in writing paraphrased quotes/sites (Agathokleous, 2021;Chen, 2021;Hafiar et al, 2019) and difficulty in making appropriate references to citations (Goyal et al, 2020;Tang et al, 2021).…”
