Augmented reality using holographic display

Abstract: Augmented reality (AR) provided extra information to the user by applying virtual image onto the real environment. There are many methods achieving AR. Holographic display is one of the potential ways due to its perfect 3D demonstration. Holographic display can provide the virtual 3D object with depth information. It can be realized an AR device with real 3D scene by combing holographic display. However, it is di cult to realize a compact holographic display with wide viewing angle and enough resolution. It li… Show more

“…Augmented reality (AR) is widely recognized to be the nextgeneration computing platform to revolutionize areas such as healthcare, medicine, communications, entertainment, education, and manufacturing. As the critical component of VR and AR, the ideal near-eye displays are supposed to provide high-resolution realistic three-dimensional (3D) imagery with a wide field of view (FOV) while supporting monocular accommodation, binocular parallax, compact form factor, and large eyebox [1][2].…”
