Augmented Reality Media Validity based on Tetrahedral Chemical Representation with Aiken Validation Index

Abstract: The development of science and technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, especially in the teaching and learning process. In the learning process, there is an interaction between teachers and students to transform their knowledge in the learning environment. To convey this knowledge, a supporting factor in learning is needed, namely learning media. This study aims to determine the feasibility of chemistry learning media in the form of augmented reality (AR) media based on chemical t… Show more

“…Research conducted by Arifin (2020) also obtained a validity percentage of 91% (very feasible) by media experts and 93% (very feasible) by material experts for the media being developed. Other research also states that the validity results obtained have an average rcount of 0.85 and are declared valid, while for the feasibility test the average value is 82.14%, which shows that the Android-based augmented reality developed is suitable for use (Sari et al, 2023).…”

“…After implementation, a summative evaluation is carried out to assess the overall quality of the product that has been developed. The subjects of this research were material experts, media experts, and grade 11 students at Kanisius Harapan Tirtomoyo High School. The research approach employed is a combination of different methods where quantitative methods are used to analyze the outcomes of a product suitability both in terms of the media and the material contained in it and are used to analyze whether the enhancement of students' critical thinking abilities has been observed abilities before and after using virtual laboratory media (Rachmadtullah et al, 2018;Sari et al, 2022). The instruments used for product assessment are in Table 1 and Table 2 Base on Table 2 show media and material expert validation is collected from the assessment scores on the assessment sheet that has been created and then converted into a Likert scale with a scale of 1 to 5.…”

“…V values range from zero to one, the value of the criteria used to declare a product valid in content is determined by how many validators and scale are used. In this study using nine validators and five categories, the threshold or validity criteria are 0.78 (Aiken, 1980;Aiken et al, 1985;Sari et al, 2022). After producing a valid product, then a preliminary field test was carried out to obtain readability information, which was carried out to six students and one chemistry teacher from each representative school in Surakarta.…”

“…This is evidenced by the results of teacher questionnaires, which stated that as many as 81.3% of teachers have never used AR as a learning medium. Therefore, AR can be an alternative solution for adequate learning media for tetrahedral chemical representation (Merino et al, 2022;Sari et al, 2022;Yamtinah et al, 2021).…”
