Abstract:Non-monochromatized undulator radiation produced with two different undulator gaps was used to observe the Auger decay following 1s to 3p resonant excitation in atomic sodium. Experimental spectra were analysed by comparing with calculations carried out using the Hartree-Fock method with relativistic corrections. The spectra revealed a rich line structure due to the coupling of the holes created in the Auger decay with the electrons on the 3s and 3p subshells. The results of the analysis also suggest a strong … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
