“…A recent study in Nepal where the researchers examined housing structures and land lots in endemic districts found that houses with natural floors increased the risk of infection by eightfold, walls made from straw, leaves, and/or bamboos increased by threefold, walls with cracks, especially in the bedroom, increased by threefold and proximity to a livestock shed, particularly located in front or at the side of a dwelling, was shown to increase the risk by fourfold [ 89 ].
