Objective: During the physical therapy education, if we can understand the student's attitude then we can make valuable suggestions with respect to the teaching in the universities and professional employment in the country. The aim of the current study is to develop a questionnaire to test the physical therapy students' attitudes towards their education and profession and to test its test-retest reliability and content validity. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: A total of 47 physical therapy students who were in their final year were randomly selected to participate in the study. After the making of the questionnaire, it was given to 6 professional experts teaching in the field of physical therapy to obtain their responses for each question with a 5-point Likert scale grading. Their answers were used in making the content validity of the questionnaire. Afterwards, the physical therapy students were asked to fill the questionnaire. Instrument reliability and test-retest reliability were also assessed by having the students complete the questionnaire after one month of taking the questionnaire. Results: The content validity index was 0.71 for the whole scale and values of individual subdivisions were ranging from 0.69 to 0.75. Instrument reliability measured by Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.86 for the whole scale and subdivision values were ranging from 0.32 to 0.86. Test-retest reliability was assessed by intraclass correlation coefficient, which was 0.71 for whole scales and subdivision values were ranging from 0.38 to 0.70. Conclusions: This questionnaire, which assesses the physical therapy student attitude towards their education and profession, has good content validity, instrument reliability, and test-retest reliability.Key Words: Attitude, Education, Physical therapy, Students, Surveys and questionnaires IntroductionExcellency has no limitations or boundaries, all the education courses are trying to achieve this excellency by constantly improving their way of education. physical therapy is one such profession where the Excellency is growing to the higher limits with each decade. Mesleki farkındalık, o mesleğin yeterlilikleri, meslekle ilgili yasa ve yönetmelikler, görev ve sorumluluklarla ilgili önbilgi sahibi olmayı gerektirir. Bireysel istek her zaman insanların mesleğini tam olarak belirleyememektedir. Literatürde, ülkemizdeki fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon okullarındaki son sınıf öğrencilerinin mesleki farkındalık düzeyi kapsamlı bir şekilde değerlendirilmemiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, bu okullardaki son sınıf öğrencilerinin mesleki farkındalık düzeylerini değerlendirmek ve bölümü istekleri doğrultusunda tercih eden öğrencilerle, bölümü istemeden tercih eden öğrencilerin mesleki farkındalık düzeylerini karşılaştırmaktı. Yöntem: Bu çalışma için, Türkiye'deki 10 üniversite örneklem olarak seçildi. Katılımcılara mesleki farkındalıkla ilgili 10 sorudan oluşan bir anket uygulandı. Tanımlayıcı istatistikler hesaplandı. Öğrencilerin mesleki farkındalık düzeylerinin karşılaştırılmasında Ki-kare testi kullanıldı. Sonuçlar: Çalışmamıza 850 fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon bölümü son sınıf öğrencisi katıldı. Soruların % 71,19'una doğru cevap verildi. Katılımcıların % 77,29'unun bölümü isteyerek tercih ettiği belirlendi. Bölümü isteyerek tercih edenler ile istemediği halde tercih edenler arasında mesleki farkındalık açısından fark bulunmadı (p>0,05). Tartışma: Bu çalışmada son sınıf fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon bölümü öğrencilerinin çoğunda mesleki farkındalığın iyi düzeyde olduğu görüldü. Ancak bazı okullardaki mesleki farkındalık düzeyi orta seviyedeydi. Bu okullarda mesleki farkındalık düzeylerinin artırılması için seminerler ve söyleşiler gibi faaliyetlerin yapılmasının faydalı olacağını düşünüyoruz.

Background and Purpose Physiotherapists are commonly working in self‐employed, employed, or in combined employed and self‐employed work arrangements. This study aimed at examining aspects of job satisfaction and predictors of physiotherapists' overall job satisfaction across those three types of work arrangements. Methods Austrian physiotherapists rated their overall job satisfaction as well as the importance and realisation of aspects of job satisfaction in a cross‐sectional online survey. Multiple linear regression was used to identify predictors of overall job satisfaction, and (for employed therapists only) predictors for planning to change the employer. Results The sample consisted of 581 physiotherapists working in the public or private sector, of which, 342 were self‐employed, 100 employed, and 139 both employed and self‐employed. Physiotherapists generally indicated high job satisfaction with notable variations according to their work arrangements. Overall job satisfaction and the aspects of recognition and autonomy were higher in self‐employed therapists, when compared to the other two groups. In contrast, self‐employed therapists reported lower satisfaction with mentoring and peer support. Those who were both employed and self‐employed reported the highest gap between the importance and realisation of their work–life balance (r = −0.50, p < 0.001). Recognition was identified as the most important predictor of job satisfaction (ß = 0.52, p < 0.001) and intention to leave (ß = −0.54, p < 0.001) in employed physiotherapists. Discussion The analysis of job satisfaction according to work arrangements suggests several approaches to increase or maintain a high level of job satisfaction, which may be addressed by employers and physiotherapy professional organisations. For employed physiotherapists, practices that increase their recognition and autonomy seem to be promising, whereas self‐employed physiotherapists could benefit from enhanced opportunities for exchange and networking with colleagues. For those who are both employed and self‐employed, more flexible work schedules may be helpful to integrate the demands of private patients and employer workloads.
