Association of tyrosine hydroxylase expression in brain and tumor with increased tumor growth in sympathectomized mice

Abstract: Objective Lymphocytes express tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), the rate-limiting enzyme for the synthesis of dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine. This suggests a broader role for cathecholamines in lymphocyte function, as well as the potential secretion of catecholamines by tumors of lymphoid origin. Our aim was to evaluate the expression of Th by murine lymphoma cells in an in vivo mouse model. For this, L5178Y-R lymphoma cells were implanted in nerve-intact and sympathectomized male BALB/c mic… Show more

“…[34][35][36] YWHABP2 is a tyrosine hydroxylase pseudogene, and tyrosine hydroxylase is essential for animal development and survival. 37 Although we developed a fully automated assistance method to predict patient survival, it has some limitations. First, we selected patches using cellularity and CellProfiler software for training, but this is only a small fraction of a whole-slide image.…”

“…It is primarily expressed in central and peripheral nervous tissues as well as adrenal glands. [ 27 ], [ 28 ] Nevertheless, although anti‐TH antibody has been a universal vehicle for exploring nervous activities, its application was generally limited in ex‐vivo experiments (such as immunohistochemical staining). As a result, an antibody‐based fluorescent tracer relative to the visualization of nerve fibers and tyrosine hydroxylase activities in high resolution would be welcomed for multiple applications and clinical translations in the future.…”

“…It was experimentally demonstrated that higher expression level of TH associated with worse outcomes in patients with neuroblastoma 29 . Previous studies also experimentally demonstrated that the abnormal expression of TH gene associated with tumor size 30,31 . “…29 Previous studies also experimentally demonstrated that the abnormal expression of TH gene associated with tumor size. 30,31 Myoinositol oxygenase (MIOX) is one of the family members composed of different aldehyde and ketone reductases, which is involved in the initiation of inositol metabolism. It was reported that the overexpression of MIOX can induce ROS production, and the imbalance between the production and clearance of reactive oxygen species leads to oxidative stress, which may eventually lead to the occurrence of tumors.…”
