Abstract:Menarche is the process that takes place when the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis matures. This maturation is dependent on adequate hypothalamic and pituitary function, normal female reproductive anatomy, normal nutrition, and the absence of other long-term disorders.
