Association ofCDKN2B-AS1rs1333049 with Brain Diseases: A Case-control Study and a Meta-analysis

Abstract: ObjectiveCDKN2B-AS1 polymorphisms were shown to associate with the risk of stroke in European. The goal of this study was to evaluate the contribution of CDKN2B-AS1 rs1333049 to the risk of hemorrhagic stroke (HS) and brain tumor (BT) in Han Chinese.MethodsA total of 142 HSs, 115 BTs, and 494 controls were included in the current association study. “…In this population‐based sample, of the 143 diabetes risk variants genotyped, 12 SNPs were associated with the risk of developing BC, three with all‐cause mortality, and three with BC‐specific mortality, in additive genotype models at an alpha of 0.05, but none were statistically significant at the Bonferroni‐corrected alpha of 0.0003.
