“…Moreover, 2 DM increased the risk of CKD 2.4 times, obesity (BMI >30 kg/m 2 ) -2.08 and 2.32 times as much. Furthermore, the 3 rd grade of BP elevation (SBP ≥180 Hg mm and/or DBP ≥110 Hg mm) increased the CKD probability threefold, which partially correlates with multiple studies and confirms our certain results published earlier [14][15][16][23][24][25][26].…”

“…The CYP11B2 gene in humans is very polymorphic with 227 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) described in different populations. Bi-allele polymorphism in the CYP11B2 gene promoter in the position -344 (-344C/T) is associated with EAH [14,15], especially T-allele (-344T) [16], or salt-dependent hypertension [17], development of aldosterone-producing adenoma [18][19][20] [16], etc., which corresponded to the obtained results. Our studies found relations between -344C/T polymorphism of CYP11B2 gene and EAH occurrence (especially in T-allele carriers' women).…”

“…As previously indicated, the CYP11B2 TT genotype was associated with higher plasma aldosterone levels. 14 16 However, the CYP11B2 -344T/C polymorphism was not associated with TIA occurrence in our study. In this study, we only investigated the association between one single polymorphism and TIA, and the influence of gene–gene or gene–environment interaction was not considered.…”

“…Although major final outcome of CVD such as death and cardiovascular disability do not occur in hypertensive children, they are encountered with increased risk of intermediate markers of target organ damage, such as left ventricular hypertrophy, retinal vascular changes, thickening of the carotid vessel wall, and even subtle cognitive changes [ 4 ]. It is widely recognized that blood pressure levels are influenced by genetic as well as by environmental factors [ 5 , 6 ]. In this regard, more than 90 different genetic polymorphisms have been identified to be associated with high blood pressure [ 7 ].…”

“…For example, a recent study reported that polymorphism of aldosterone synthase gene is linked with the development of hypertension through increasing the aldosterone level and aldosterone/renin ratio [ 5 ]. On the other hand, among environmental parameters, obesity, smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, and physical inactivity likely play a major role in development of hypertension [ 6 ].…”
