Objective: The placenta is derived from both maternal and fetal tissue with approximately one fifth derived from fetal tissue at term. The placenta should be examined, as it reflects disease in the mother and the fetus. Aim: The aim is to implement a protocol for improving nursing performance towards placental examination at labor units. Methods: Design: A quasi-experimental design was adopted. Setting: The current study was conducted at the labor unit at Ain Shams maternity hospital and Beni-Suef University hospital. Sample: 42 nurses who were affiliated to labor units (21 nurses of Ain Shams maternity hospital group and 21 nurses of Beni-Suef University hospital group). Tools: Two tools were used for data collection; structured interview questionnaire and an observation checklist. Results: There was no significant difference between both groups in general characteristics. The majority of the studied nurses from Ain Shams and Beni-Suef hospital, respectively, did not attend any training related to placental examination before conducting the study. Meanwhile, there was a significant improvement in nurses' performance towards placental examination after implementing the program. Conclusions: The placental examination program was effective in improving the nurse's performance at labor units. Recommendation: Policymakers should formulate a national plan of continuing education to help nurses already in the labor force to retain and update their knowledge and clinical skills especially in such topic placental examination and encourage nurses to participate in programs in order to maintain a high level of health care in maternity hospitals.

Family planning (FP) is critical for the health of women and their families, and it can accelerate a country's progress toward reducing poverty and achieving development goals. FP is an important component of primary health care, maternal and child health. It is the means of planning families that want space according to choice and time to fit in with life decisions. Aim: This study aimed to assess satisfaction level of women attending Maternal and Child Health (MCH) centers with FP services. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. A total sample of 569 women was interviewed at four MCH centers covers Assiut city. Results: The findings revealed that the mean age of the respondents was 29.38± 6.13, 72.2 % of them were from urban areas and 47.3 % currently use a contraceptive method. A high satisfaction level with family planning services was noticed. Conclusion: significantly, the majorities of the clients was satisfied with the provided skills and counseling. It was approved that the most of MCH centers have good quality level in health services and facilities. Recommendation: Family planning providers require training to strengthen their communication skills so that they can meet their client's individual needs.

Background: Maternal Mortality Rate (ΜΜR) is the major universal concern. Emergency care should be done by nurses with аhigh quality of chest compressions and rapidly advanced airway management in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CРR) for pregnantwomen. The ability to respond quickly and effectively to cardiac arrest situation rests on health care team and maternity nurses being competent in the emergency lifesaving procedure of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Aim: Assess the effect of pregnant advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation learning package on maternity nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice.Methods: Αquasi-experimental research design was used in this study composed of 85 nurses from all maternity departments in the Beni-Suef University Hospital and General Hospital. Data were collected using аstructured interview to assess nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice pre/post learning package of cardiopulmonary resuscitation for pregnantwomen. Results:The study findings demonstrate statistically significant improvement in nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice scores. However, the post-knowledge score reported high score (84.7%), the attitude modified about (87.1%) with high level and almost (92.9%) were met the CРR practice technique. Conclusion:Overall, the majority of nurses' knowledge, attitude and practices toward cardiopulmonary resuscitation in Beni-Suef city were neither sufficient nor favorable. All of the studied participants didn't practice CРR. After implementation the program, overall, the majority of participants had аpositive attitude about CРR. Recommendation:The study is recommended that a training program should be conducted and a simple manual of guidelines of advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation for pregnant women should be made available in all maternity units to be provided to newly employed nurses.
