Association analysis between endothelial function related factors and coronary artery stenosis degree in coronary heart disease patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract: Association analysis shown that the level of sICAM-1, VCAM-1, MCP-1 and vWF elevated in CHD with T2DM patients. Vascular endothelial dysfunction could be caused to the coronary artery stenosis pathophysiological process. Results from this study suggested that sICAM-1, VCAM-1, MCP-1 and vWF may contribute to the occurrence and development of vascular lesions in T2DM. These endothelial function related factors could be acceptable as a prediction and testing index of vascular complications in T2DM.

“…Therefore, the use of circulating vWF levels to evaluate endothelial function is feasible, effective and practical. The present investigation confirmed that plasma vWF levels were higher in patients with stable CAD than those in controls, which is consistent with previous studies [ 32 34 ]. This hypothesis is supported by previous findings indicating that makers for endothelial dysfunction are valuable predictors of the presence and severity of CAD [ 33 ].…”

“… 18 In our study, we discovered that lnc‐NEAT1 expression was positively associated with Gensini score, which represented more advanced disease severity. The reason might be that: through modulating miR‐181d‐5p/cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor 3 (miR‐181d‐5p/CDKN3) axis, lnc‐NEAT1 increased the proliferation of HUVECs, 20 which could contribute to coronary artery stenosis and pathophysiological process in CHD, 21 thus resulting in unfavorable disease severity. Furthermore, a study reveals that elevation of TC is closely correlated with coronary artery stenosis.…”

“…This study revealed the relationship of homozygous variants of Q448E and rs2073932 with increased vWF activity which was consistent with our previous study. [ 14 ] To date, some studies have shown that vWF was positively correlated with Gensini score[ 25 ] and vascular endothelial growth factor,[ 26 ] which associated with increased atherosclerosis progression. [ 27 ] Therefore, the association between ADAMTS13 polymorphisms and vWF activity may in turn support their roles in promoting atherosclerosis progression in type 2 DM individuals.…”
