Aspects of CPT-even Lorentz-symmetry violating physics in a supersymmetric scenario

Abstract: Background fermion condensates in a landscape dominated by global supersymmetry are reassessed in connection with a scenario where Lorentz symmetry is violated in the bosonic sector (actually, the photon sector) by a CPT-even k F term. An effective photonic action is discussed that originates from the supersymmetric background fermion condensates. Also, the photino mass emerges in terms of a particular condensate contrary to what happens in the case of k AF -violation. Finally, the interparticle potential indu… Show more

“…The SME constitutes a quite general framework that facilitates investigations on the breaking of Lorentz and CPT symmetries. Theoretical aspects of LV have been investigated in Maxwell electrodynamics [7][8][9][10][11], QCD [12], gravity [13,14], noncommutative theories [15], statistical mechanics [16], QED [17][18][19][20], supersymmetry [21][22][23][24], electromagnetic wave propagation [25][26][27], to name a few. Experimental tests of LV have been performed in experiments involving photons [28,29], electrons [30,31], muons [32,33], and many others [3].…”

“…For the CPT-odd case, we study the super-symmetrised [55,75] Carroll-Field-Jackiw model [20], where the Lorentz-Poincaré symmetry violation is determined by the V µ fourvector. The resulting dispersion relation is of the fourth order.…”
