Aspectos emocionais associados a disfunções gastroenterológicas

Abstract

RESUMO. Diversos estudos têm demonstrado que alguns indivíduos, ante a impossibilidade de representar mentalmente seus conflitos, expressam-nos com o corpo, por meio de sintomas psicossomáticos. Também tem sido investigado como situações de estresse, ansiedade e depressão podem influir no curso e na evolução de determinadas doenças, incluindo as inflamatórias do intestino. Esta pesquisa reuniu trinta pacientes portadores de retocolite ulcerativa e doença de Crohn, que foram submetidos a três testes psicológicos: Inventário Beck de Ansiedade, Inventário Beck de Depressão e Inventário de Sintomas de Estresse para Adultos de Lipp. Posteriormente, nove deles foram selecionados para realização de um trabalho psicoterapêutico breve em grupo. Os testes revelaram que a condição emocional, embora não possa ser considerada diretamente causadora, pode afetar as defesas do sujeito, agravando a patologia. O trabalho psicoterapêutico revelou situações emocionais até então não percebidas, mas presentes nas histórias de vida e manifestadas sintomaticamente por meio de somatizações.Palavras-chave: Conflitos emocionais; disfunções gastroenterológicas; psicanálise. EMOTIONAL ASPECTS ASSOCIATED TO GASTROENTEROLOGICAL DYSFUNCTIONSABSTRACT. Many studies have showed that some individuals failing in demonstrating their mental conflicts may express them bodily, through psychosomatic symptoms. It has also been investigated how situations of stress, anxiety and depression contribute to the formation process and evolution of some diseases, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This research gathered thirty patients with Ulcerative Retocolitis and Crohn's Disease, who were submitted to three psychological tests: the Beck Anxiety Inventory, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the Lipp Stress Symptom Inventory. Afterwards, nine of them were chosen to perform a brief psychotherapy work group. The tests revealed that the emotional condition although not the main responsible, may aggravate the pathology by affecting one's body and mental defenses. The psychotherapy work displayed emotional conditions until recently unnoticed; though present in life, symptomatically manifested by somatizations.Key words: Emotional conflicts; gastroenterological dysfunctions; psychoanalysis. Influence of transpersonal brief psychotherapy on depression and anxiety in patients with Crohn's disease
