Artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease

Abstract: SUMMARY Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science that aims to mimic human thought processes. AI techniques have been applied in cardiovascular medicine to explore novel genotypes and phenotypes in existing diseases, improve the quality of patient care, enabling cost-effectiveness, and reducing readmission and mortality rates. The potential of AI in cardiovascular medicine is tremendous; however, ignorance of the challenges may overshadow its potential clinical impact. This paper gives a glim… Show more

“…Artificial intelligence (AI) being a method of simulating the biological human brain in order to complete tasks in a more effective manner could be used in various applications [ 1 ]. By simulating the cognitive abilities of the human brain, AI could be used to respond to input in a manner similar to that of humans.…”

“…The intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and cardiovascular diseases has yielded remarkable progress in medical research and patient care. With the expanding use of AI in cardiovascular medicine, it is crucial to investigate gender representation within this dynamic field [1]. Examining the gender ratio of first authorship in articles focused on AI applications in cardiovascular diseases from 2005 to 2022 can offer valuable insights into gender disparities and opportunities for fostering diversity and inclusivity in the Despite notable advancements in promoting females' inclusion in science and medicine, a persistent underrepresentation of females in academic publications persists.…”
