ArrayExpress--a public repository for microarray gene expression data at the EBI

Abstract: ArrayExpress is a public repository for microarray data that supports the MIAME (Minimum Informa-tion About a Microarray Experiment) requirements and stores well-annotated raw and normalized data. As of November 2004, ArrayExpress contains data from ∼12 000 hybridizations covering 35 species. Data can be submitted online or directly from local databases or LIMS in a standard format, and password-protected access to prepublication data is provided for reviewers and authors. The data can be retrieved by accessio… Show more

“…Band intensities were evaluated by densitometry. For microarray analysis, the synthesis of 33 P-CTP-labeled cDNA and the hybridization, washing, and stripping of Genefilters (Research Genetics, Huntsville, AL) were performed as described previously (Rep et al, Parkinson et al, 2005) under the accession number E-MEXP-1136. Statistical analysis of overrepresentation of functional groups was performed by using FUNSPEC (Robinson et al, 2002).…”

“…The microarray experiment databases GEO (Barrett et al 2005) at NCBI and ArrayExpress (Parkinson et al 2005) at European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) contain tomato gene expression data from six sets of experiments obtained by using different platforms such as "Cornell-CGEP Tomato 13K TOM1" and "Potato 10k cDNA array".…”

“…Human HRH1 gene (NM_003118) was used as query sequences for the BLAST programs. The expression profiles for normal human tissues were obtained from GeneAnnot (26) and ArrayExpress (27). Northern analysis of NCBI's uniGene dataset was also extracted (21).…”
