All about the article, the Covid 19 pandemic, like many areas of the field, education has been affected. As a result of the rapid spread of the epidemic in our country, education was suspended in all educational institutions, and then the distance (online) education system was rapidly switched to. However, this transition has brought some problems for the applied courses. Particularly, departments such as architectural education, whose applied courses are more important than theoretical courses, have had difficulties in adapting to this change. In all Architecture departments, 7 weeks of the spring semester of 2019-2020 and the whole of 2020-2021 were carried out with distance education. In the 2021-2022 education period, as a result of the weakening of the effect of the epidemic thanks to vaccination, a hybrid (mixed) education system was adopted with the decision of YÖK, all applied courses were conducted face-to-face and theoretical courses were carried out via distance education. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of face-to-face education, distance education and hybrid education systems applied today, on design education, specifically to the Department of Architecture of Trakya University, and to make suggestions about the ideal architectural education system in the future. As a method, the phenomenological approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study, and the data obtained were evaluated with the descriptive analysis method. The data obtained as a result of the survey study, in which 17 students voluntarily participated, from the 3rd and 4th grade students who have experienced all three education systems, and the one-to-one interviews with the students were analyzed. In the conclusion part of the study, the students' perspectives on the efficiency of the project courses were evaluated within the scope of face-to-face, distance and hybrid education models. The results of the research highlight:
--The distance education system in architectural design education will be more efficient if advanced technologies are provided and the concept of virtual reality is implemented.
- In the hybrid education system, the continuation of the theoretical courses with distance education and the fact that they are registered increases the success of the student in the project courses because of the time savings.
- Hybrid education is more efficient for 3rd and 4th grade students who have taken the basis of this education, not for 1st and 2nd year students who are in the first years of design education.
- It is thought that the ideal design education in the future is a hybrid education system in which traditional face-to-face and distance education systems are used together.
