“…In the past few years, aptamers have been obtained for a wide range of targets, for example, cells, viruses, inorganic materials, metal ions, coenzymes, nucleobases, amino acids, antibiotics, pesticides, polypeptides, and hormones and other low-molecular-weight molecules [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. Multiple studies have been performed that are dedicated to the development of biosensors functionalized with aptamers; the biosensors are based on various nanomaterials: quantum dots, metal nanoparticles (NPs), and single- and multiwalled carbon nanotubes [ 4 , 5 , 6 ].…”

“…The specificity of aptamers comes from the variety of shapes they can assume (such as helices and single-stranded loops). , In addition to this functionality, their small size (typically <100 nucleotides), ease of modification, structural and conformational flexibility, biocompatibility, and improved stability make them suitable for use in cancer diagnosis, targeted drug delivery, and biomarker discovery. Moreover, compared with antibodies, the small size of aptamers, the ability to withstand against degradation (due to processing steps, temperature change, shear), and the absence of immunogenicity make them more useful in biological applications . The high-affinity binding of aptamers to targeting cells and tissues in a complex biological environment ensures selective and specific sensing (of proteins, viruses, bacteria, diseased cells), bioimaging, , and delivery of therapeutics . Traditionally, aptamers are discovered using SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment), a directed in vitro evolution technique in which large libraries of oligonucleotides are screened for binding various targets with strong affinity. , Known aptamers can be chemically synthesized (including truncated versions) and integrated into DNA nanomaterials using hybridization (Figure b).…”

“…Apart from the above mentioned materials, other advanced materials also have been used in sample preparation of aquatic products such as ions liquid [113][114][115] and aptamer modified materials [22,116]. Ionic liquid is a kind of molten salt with melting point near room temperature, which is completely composed of anionic and cationic in liquid at room temperature or near room temperature [114,115].…”

“…Aptamer modified materials has also attracted much attention in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry, and biomedicine due to their high stability, affinity, and selectivity [116]. Cheng et al [22] developed an ELISA for residue screening of the furazolidone metabolite, 3‐Amino‐2‐oxazolidinone (AOZ), in cultured fish via the specific interaction between AOZ and AOZ‐specific antibodies.…”
