The ability to speak in Indonesian is a characteristic of a person's ability to understand Indonesian language lessons. After being observed, many students are still not confident in speaking in front of the class or explaining the concept map in a presentation, and even less active class discussions regarding questions and answers. In this case, classroom action research (CAR) provides an effort to improve students' speaking skills by applying the show and tell method by explaining, presenting concept maps, and discussing questions and answers. This study aims to inform that the application of the show and tell method improves the skills of class XI C students at SMK Komputama Majenang. This study was conducted with 2 cycles and as the subject students of class XI C with observation techniques and oral tests with quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on this, the conclusion is that the application of this method can improve speaking skills from the classical 75% passing percentage to 81%. In applying for the show and tell method, the learning steps are the procedures for implementing the show and tell method by the teacher and students. Students provide explanations with instructions in the form of pictures, photos, personal objects, etc. The teacher encourages students to actively discuss the material from the concept map that the teacher provides, encouraging students to ask and answer.

Effectiveness of Using Paired Storytelling Technique Towards the Students’ Reading Comprehension

This research aimed to find out whether: (1) the paired storytelling technique is more effective than the conventional technique to teach reading; (2) the average score of students’ reading comprehension who learn reading through the paired storytelling technique is higher than those who learn reading through the conventional technique. The population was the second semester students of SMA Muhammadiyah Prambanan which consist of 77 students. Purposive sampling was used to determine the experimental class and control class. Each class consists of 26 students. The experimental class was treated by using paired storytelling technique, while control class was treated by using conventional technique. Then, the technique which was used to collect the data were multiple choice test for getting the data of students’ reading skill. The instrument of reading test was tried out to get the validity and reliability items. The data from post test were tested their normality and homogeneity. It was found out that the data were normal distribution and homogeneous. After that the data were analyzed to get the hyphothesis test by using ANCOVA.

Penelitian tindakan sekolah ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran cooperatif learning melalui supervisi kelas di SMP Negeri 2 Sidareja Kecamatan Sidareja. Subjek dalam penelitian tindakan sekolah ini adalah 10 orang guru di SMP Negeri 2 Sidareja Kabupaten Cilacap terdiri dari 6 oarang guru laki – laki dan 4 orang guru perempuan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dua siklus dan tiap siklusnya terdiri dari dua kali pertemuan yang tiap siklusnya dilaksanakan melalui supervisi kelas. Teknik dan alat pengumpul data melalui tes dan non tes serta melalui observasi. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini apabila 85 % dari guru memiliki kompetensi untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran cooperatif learning dan menunjukkan keaktifan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan keaktifan guru , dari 70 % pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 100 % pada siklus II, demikian juga dengan kompetensi guru pada siklus I mencapai 60% meningkat menjadi 100 % pada siklus II. Dengan demikian melalui supervisi kelas dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran cooperatif learning.
