“…All the support materials of Au/LREO were determined to be the composites of rare-earth oxides (RE 2 O 3 ) and rare-earth oxycarbonates (RE 2 O 2 CO 3 ). RE 2 O 2 CO 3 is a kind of layered compound with CO 3 2– anions separating the (RE 2 O 2 ) 2+ layers. The appearance of RE 2 O 2 CO 3 compounds can be attributed to the exchange of intercalated NO 3 – in LREHs to CO 3 2– anions that were released from the hydrolyzed CO(NH 2 ) 2 and further calcination at 400 °C. For instance, Au/LPrO showed the typical peaks of both Pr 2 O 2 CO 3 and Pr 6 O 11 , which are shown in Figure A.…”

“…In this region, the DTG curve shows a maximum mass loss rate at 512 °C. Between 555 and 830 °C, the third stage exhibits a steep and rapid weight loss of 3.4% at 622 °C owing to the conversion of Pr 2 O 2 CO 3 to Pr 6 O 11 . Eventually, the TG curve becomes stable above 830 °C. The TG–DTG curve for the Au/LYO sample in Figure D shows the similar three decomposition stages to Au/LPrO between 30 and 900 °C, indicating the coexistence of Au, Y 2 O 3 , and Y 2 O 2 CO 3 .…”
