Highly Sensitive Determination of Theophylline Based on Graphene Quantum Dots Modified Electrode

Abstract: In this study we introduce a novel modification for the surface of screen-printed electrode (SPE) by graphene quantum dot (GQD) in order to be used in the determination and detection of theophylline. An uncomplicated technique was employed to stabilize GQD on screen-printed electrode. Function evaluation of the GQD modified SPE (GQD/SPE) by cyclic voltammetry revealed enhanced electroactivity in the oxidation of theophylline in buffer solution of phosphate. Differential-pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltamme… Show more

“…Moreover, due to the electroactive properties of levodopa and tryptophan, those can be determined by electrochemical methods. Electrochemical technique is a good alternative to the aforementioned methods due to the faster response, higher selectivity, higher sensitivity, reproducibility, easy operation and lower cost [10][11][12][13][14].…”

“…This behavior could be due to the formation of UO 2 -I-TPB ion pairs in the membrane which diffused from organic phase to the organic/liquid phase interface and then dissociated slightly resulting in increasing UO 2 2 + concentration at the surface regions [33]. In addition, higher KTpClPB concentrations could lead to interferences as they might non-selectively compete with the ionophore [34].…”

“…Among the different binders tested DBS was found to be the most suitable one. Since the percentage of ionophore is known to strongly influence the sensitivity and selectivity of ISEs [18][19][20][21], the effect of ionophore percentage on the response of the CPE sensor incorporated SAB towards Nd(III) is also investigated and results are given in Table-2. From the data given in Table-2, it is obvious that the variation of ionophore percentage from 5 to 10 increases the working concentration range and slope of the sensor.…”
