“…1 However, it is difficult for researchers to explain the component that plays a major role in the efficacy of the materials because of their massive chemical composition, which is an obstacle for TCM in the international market. 2 In reaction to this phenomenon, multiple studies have focused on examining the chemical components of TCM. However, TCM is numerous in quantity and complicated in composition, so the condition of current research is far from enough.…”

“…Lignans and their derivatives were a main class of secondary metabolites in Eucommiae Cortex, and display various bioactivities in vivo or in vitro (Deyama, 1983;Shi et al, 2013). In this work, 31 lignans have been tentatively characterized, including compounds 16, 24-25, 28-30, 34-37, 42-47, 49-52, 54, 55, 57-65 (Brenes et al, 2000;Guo et al, 2007;Feng et al, 2007;Chai et al, 2012;Pi et al, 2016;He et al, 2018;Jia et al, 2019;Jiang et al, 2019;Qi et al, 2019). The most lignans in Eucommiae Cortex are phenylpropanoid dimers with one or two glucose units, which means a few of the MS 2 fragments followed by the loss of glucose neutral moiety.…”

“…Compared the real retention behavior with that in the reported literatures (He et al, 2018), compounds 42 and 52 were tentatively identified as erythroguaiacylglycerol-b-conifery aldehyde ether and threoguaiacylglycerol-b-conifery aldehyde ether, respectively. Although several lignans such as compounds 25, 30, 34, 43, 44, and 49 could not be found based on the characteristic ions, they were also tentatively identified by comparing with the precise parent ions (error below 5 ppm), MS 2 fragment ions and the retention behavior with the data obtained in literatures (He et al, 2018;Jiang et al, 2019).…”
