“…The zones may warrant investigation as increased radioelement values are one of the geophysical criteria for granites associated with tin mineralisation (Blevin, 1998), and increased K counts for some alteration assemblages. Yeates et al (1982) found high uranium values associated with Sn and W deposits -whether they are hosted in granite, country rock or even in placers -as Sn, W, Th and U concentrate in K-rich residual melts when granites cool. Their report on the application of gamma ray spectrometry for tin and tungsten prospecting in NSW suggest that U enrichment above 4 pm can help to distinguish intrusions with a suitable degree of fractionation.…”
